Welcome to the website of Kendriya Vidyalaya No.1, Amritsar Cantt, a premier institution of the area and the second largest Vidyalaya of the region (JR). It has been assiduously catering to the educational needs of the children of defence personnel as well as the civilians with dedication, devotion, zeal, ardour, earnestness, a sincerity, fidelity, responsibility, efficiency and accountability ever since its inception.

I joined this Smart and Model Vidyalaya on 06th September 2022 with the vision, dream and idea to achieve excellence in all aspects and perspectives related with mankind under the dynamic and progressive guidance, direction and leadership of KVS authorities. Invoking cooperation, collaboration, support, assistance and direction from the worthy, sagacious, prudent and foresighted chairman of VMC, I intend to groom the students rigorously to enable them cater the rapidly changing scenario-social, moral, economic, spiritual and political- in this twenty-first century of information and technology.

According to Mahatma Gandhi “By education I mean an all round drawing out of the best in child and man-body, mind and spirit.” Besides education is a life long process which aims at the transformation of an individual into the life of spirit, a training of human souls in the pursuit of truth and practice of virtue.

It is therefore becomes all the more important that education should be given the foremost attention so that it can form character, increase strength of mind, expand the intellect by which the pupils can stand on their own feet. Only then they can be in a position to burn the mid night oil to come upto the expectations of modern and rapidly developing India besides competing with the best in the world.

Ask me my three main priorities for administration and I tell you, education, service and humility. Moreover the aim of education is the knowledge not of facts but of values which will be revived to be practiced.

I would like to impress upon the guardians of the children and the teachers that the need of the hour is to change our old mindset in order to make our society more vibrant, vigorous and dynamic. I am confident that I will be able to infuse new enthusiasm, ardour, fervour and intensity in the students and teachers to enhance and heighten their ability, intelligence, talent, aptitude and innate qualities and approach to subject matter, efficiency and proficiency so that KV No.1, Amritsar Cantt can touch those dizzy heights as never touched before.
